One Last Time
Hello everyone!
This week was really good! We’ve been able to see miracles all around us.
Some highlights...
Sister Silver and I felt we should go to our favourite restaurant, "Taco Jesus"... which is strange because we had already gone there this week during exchanges, but we thought, “Whatever, let’s just go.” Was it the Spirit or just our stomachs? Probably just our stomachs. ANYWAYS, we get there, and one of the workers starts talking about how he’s sorry he didn’t come to church last week (we invited him a few weeks ago). Then the other workers started asking questions about church and asked if he could come... and HE DID! I was talking to him after church yesterday, and he asked me why we were there. We explained the funny circumstances that led us there. He looks at me dead in the eyes and says, “I was praying to God that morning to find a church to go to, and this is the first Sunday I’ve had off of work ever.” God truly works in the most mysterious of ways. All in all I have learned the spirit works through mexican food and mexican food helps you find those God would have you help
We had five friends come to church!!!
A member told me that “I can’t be Canadian because Canadians are supposed to look like Pac-Man or South Park characters, and that can’t be the case because you’re actually pretty.” ... Thank you, Adrian... thank you... I still don’t know what to do with that information.
Our teaching pool is just amazing. We have the most progressing and interested people, one of them being Milosz, and he is just the best. He brought us mugs and a magnet from his city to church! Then we have Damian, and he is out here sharing the gospel with his friends. We’re going to start having them in lessons now! I love being able to teach these people and develop personal connections with them. It is such a joy and privilege.
Last but not least... exchanges! I was able to go on exchanges with Sister Trost!!!! It was so much fun and also such a tender experience. It was fun to teach and spend time as companions together for one last time. Got to take her to my favourite spots here in Poznań... Taco Jesus and Bartek's ;). It was a lot of fun. However, we did our fifth week of My Plan together... iykyk... and let’s just say I’m so grateful we did that together because, holyyyyyy... there was a lot of laughing, that’s for sure.
It’s so cool to see how far we’ve both come, and honestly, I can attribute a lot of my growth to her. She is truly my sister, and through her Christlike character, she’s helped me to strive to be better. From day one, she’s shown me what it means to act in faith, do what is right, and love everyone while doing it. Being able to sit next to her and testify together for the last time in our calling—speaking the language that once caused us to lose our hair—was an incredibly special moment. I’m so proud of her and the woman of God that she is, the light, and the example she is to all those around her. If there’s one thing I learned on the exchange, it’s that "the optimistic is future," and oh boy, is that a “good truth.”
Spiritual Thought
13 Behold, how many thousands of our brethren has he loosed from the pains of hell; and they are brought to sing redeeming love, and this because of the power of his word which is in us, therefore have we not great reason to rejoice?
There are so many reasons to rejoice in this message! That we have a Saviour who blazed the trail for us to follow, and He is willing and wanting to walk that path with us. His message is one of love and JOY! I love my Saviour and am grateful for this one last week I have the chance to serve in the form of formal missionary service. I know that sharing the gospel and singing the song of redeeming love extends far beyond the time I have wearing a missionary tag, but something I get to take with me going forward. Focus on the things that bring you joy this week and share it with those around you... even just through your countenance.
I hope you all gave a great week,
