We Are Old (Week 6)

Image
Well... we are old now.  It has been a week of goodbyes. It started with our Spanish sisters next door... That was a very sad day and our hardest goodbye for sure. Then this week we have had to say bye to a lot of people we came in with. It started with the Spanish elders, then the Danish elders, and the two Slovenian elders from the Ukrainian district (They were supposed to be here the whole time with us but they are heading out to the field today, long story). We came in with all these people... It is so weird to see them all go. random note, but it's so weird because all the districts that I just mentioned (aside from the spanish) do not have a single sister. for what reason... I could not tell you. There are some languages that just have sisters, but I could not tell you why those ones didn't.  As sad as it is to see them go, I am so glad I have the remaining time that I do here. I can not imagine going into the field right now with the level of Polish I am at. Truly a ble...

MTC Week 4?

Image
Hi! It's crazy, I have been a missionary for over a month now! This week did not go by fast like all the other ones haha. I think it is mostly because we have met a bunch of people that are only here for a week and a bit and others that are learning languages that still head out before us. But it is okay! This time next month we will be on a plane to Poland.  They gave me permission to play against the guys in basketball thankfully! Because before that I had to beg a sister to come and play. The MTC does not like it when girls and guys match up because they are worried we will get hurt. So playing has been sooo fun.  We had an AMAZING devotional last night. Elder Peter Johnson and his wife came and spoke to us. He talked about applying the gospel to our lives and how it is unique for every person. But he said something at the start that stuck out to me. (Spiritual thought) He said to the senior missionaries ( I believe quoting President Nelson), "You are not leaving your grand...

Week Three!

Hey everyone!  This week was good. Elder Bednar came this week so that was pretty awesome! It's been a crazy week with the language. It is getting pretty intense. It was a very language focused week so it all felt like a blur. We worked on bearing our testimonies on monday. It is so humbling to learn the basics of a language. we had to simplify our testimonies down to less than primary level... It's hard to break down what we want to say at such a basic level. But it is coming along.  I made a goal for myself to post everyday on social media... well I accidentally picked up a real life investigator. So now I am trying to communicate with him and get him connected with the missionaries that are currently in Poland. It is kind of crazy but so exciting.  my spiritual thought of the week. The power of prayer is real and so important. Take the time out of your day to say a meaningful prayer is crucial. I have some exciting tips on how to give a good prayer, I can't take the cr...

Week 2 In Provo MTC

HI!!!! This week was another amazing week. We started full immersion on friday so that was really ummmm exciting. It has been good, but crazy. The sisters and I experienced a fun thing... on the first day our brains died from how much Polish we learned that our english stopped working. So that was funny/frustrating. Starting to get used to it now though. We are back to fully functioning English and are now able to string a few Polish sentences together.  Lots of missionaries have been leaving this week. It is so fun to see them go. We are all excited for them cause the anticipation just builds every day that we are here. Our Spanish sisters next door that we workout with are on the countdown though which is very upsetting.  We did get to talk to that Polish sister's family last week!!! It was incredible. Their conversion story is amazing. If anyone wants to hear about it... you should email me:).  Spiritual thought of the week is short and simple this week,  Luke 22:...
